Why Retro?

In the beginning…

If you are thirty something who is reading this, then there is a high chance you wasted more of your childhood than you would care to admit playing on a computer or console of some kind. These were magical, more innocent days from which the colossal games industry of today evolved. Games didn’t have the graphical qualities to appeal to a wide market in the way modern consoles now do, and games were all about playability. And playability doesn’t age...

Retrogamer

The Retrogamer project is all about building a retro gaming community. Complete retro game and system collections can be catalogued online and discussed with other retro games fanatics.

One of the ultimate tools to the retro gamer has been the MAME project. All those games you wasted your pocket money or allowance on as a child are now available for you to play for free. (Even though the legality of doing so is questionable.) Here is the photo diary of someone who wanted more….
